November 13 fundraiser to occur at The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel at 6 PM
Lincoln, NE — Save the date for Lincoln Literacy’s 2025 Global Celebration, a fundraising event to be held the evening of Thursday, November 13, 2025, at The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel, 333 S 13th St, from 6 to 8 PM.
This year, Lincoln Literacy is celebrating student achievements, volunteer tutor dedication, and a record number of students served. In 2024, the organization served over 2,000 adult learners from 87 countries. As of August 2025, Lincoln Literacy had already surpassed 2,000 learners. This milestone was made possible by generous donors and over 200 volunteer tutors who ensure that newcomers can learn, grow, and thrive in the Lincoln community.
Following an exciting keynote and musical performance, the Global Celebration will feature a plated dinner and cash bar with table service provided by The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel. If you plan to attend, please let the Lincoln Literacy team know about any dietary requirements you might have, and they will be happy to accommodate you.
“This past year marks an amazing milestone for us,” said Executive Director Bryan Seck. “Thanks to our volunteer tutors, we doubled the number of students served from 1,109 to 2,250 from 2022 to 2024. In 2025, we are serving even more students with new classes, such as Food Safety, Career Pathways, Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Prep, and multiple levels of computer and digital literacy.”

Thanks to 200+ trained volunteer tutors, it has grown to become the community’s leader in helping refugees and immigrants gain the English language skills, cross-cultural competence, workplace skills, and career navigation they need to become productive citizens while also helping homegrown Americans acquire the skills they need to attain living-wage jobs.
Over 100 classes per week are hosted seven days per week in the neighborhoods where Lincoln Literacy’s students live — including in schools, churches, partner non-profits, and 13 area businesses where the organization teaches employees to improve their English skills and safety on the job.
