Our Impact

From our Executive Director

Taina arrived from Haiti in 2024 with a dream: to become a nurse. She started with English classes at Lincoln Literacy, progressed into our Healthcare Career Pathways and CNA Prep program, and now — while working as a CNA — is pursuing her Licensed Practical Nurse degree at Southeast Community College. She’s accepted a job at Bryan Health upon graduation. Taina’s journey shows what’s possible when our community comes together to help others thrive.

And she’s not alone. In 2025, we served more than 3,121 adult learners from an astonishing 143 countries, a 42% increase over 2024. There are only about 195 countries in the whole world! With hundreds of volunteers and generous support from the community, Lincoln Literacy provides free English classes, career pathways, tutoring, job mentoring, and family support like childcare.

2025 Report

Serving a Growing Student Population

In 2025, we served 3,121 adult learners. They came from 143 different countries and territories, bringing rich cultures, skills, and aspirations. From refugees fleeing danger to parents building a better life for their kids, our students remind us that learning is a lifelong journey — and that it’s never too late to dream big.

In 2025, 213 volunteers powered our mission. Because of them, 78.5% of students advanced at least one level on the adult BEST Literacy test.
