Tutor Resources

"Literacy tutors make our work possible. They open a door to a new world of opportunity, language, reading and culture for our students." ~ LLC staff member

Women and men of all ages volunteer as literacy tutors with Lincoln Literacy Council (LLC). Most tutors help immigrants and refugees with essential English skills. Others help adults who grew up speaking English improve their reading and writing. Tutors complete 4 three-hour training sessions before LLC staff place them with a student or a group. Tutors meet with their students once a week for an hour and a half.
